5.02 School Spending

This page includes data from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction on K–12 public school educational cost. The educational cost per student is the total educational cost divided by the average number of resident full-time equivalent (FTE) students. The total educational cost includes public school expenditures related to instruction and instructional support services, transportation, facility acquisitions, and debt-service principal and interest. It does not include food and community service costs.

Notes

Resident FTE students include all K–12 public school, private school, and home-based students by residence. County-level data are aggregated from data at the school district level based on the county assigned to each district by the National Center for Education Statistics.
