3.11 Child Care Demand and Assistance

This page includes data from the Annie E. Casey Foundation on child care demand and assistance. Demand for child care is measured as the number of children under age 7 per licensed child care slot. Child care assistance is offered to low-income families with children under age 8 through the Wisconsin Shares program from the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families. Need for child care assistance is measured as the percentage of children under age 8 receiving Wisconsin Shares child care subsidies.
